The below detailed list of travel resources is a collection of websites that we use ourselves either to book our flights, discover deals on tickets or accommodation, book experiences and tours at the places we travel. You can find several choices such as trusted websites to rent a bike or car at the best rates, where to buy online bus tickets, last-minute deals on amazing cruises at the Mediterranean, Caribean and even Alaska. We also have put together resources for digital nomads, festival tickets sites, online shopping stores for travel accessories, our favourite books that will keep you good company during your trips, online courses and smartphone apps.
Have a glance below!
When we search for airline tickets we usually check sites like Jetradar, Kayak, Google Flights or Skyscanner. Of course, there are plenty search engine sites out there but the above are well trusted and provide various options at cheapest rates. Don't forget, if you are not familiar with the OTA (online travel agent) that offers the deal, you can always do the final step of the booking through the official airline website even if the price is a bit higher. This way you will be sure that anytime you have the 24 support of this airline company and you don't have to worry if something goes wrong the last minute.
Jetradar - Jetradar is a great site when it comes to search and compare airfares and hotels for your next trip. They offer very competitive prices, easy booking and lots of deals for various destinations even low-cost airlines offers.
Kayak - same like Jetradar, Kayak.com is metasearch engine and one of my favourite sites because they also offer great prices for flights, hotels and car rentals, as they are connected with many online travel agents. In early 2018 Booking.com was connected with Kayak providing travellers direct search for cheap flights through their site.
Skyscanner - a well-known platform for your search for flights and hotels. The reason we like using Skyscanner is due to their searching option that allows you to leave the destination field empty (everywhere) and the engine will automatically find the cheapest rates for various destinations on certain months. So if you have not decided your next trip yet check this option.
Google Flights - Google offers this useful and fast tool not only to check for flights but also to provide details such as price graph to check for the cheapest dates to travel and airports nearby your destination that may have better rates.
Qatar Airways - while travelling we have tried various companies but we admit that one of our favourite is Qatar Airways. They service is extraordinary, the staff is so friendly and carrying, and the seats in the plane are very comfortable. I suggest always to my friends firstly checking the deals of Qatar Airways before booking with other airfare providers.
FlightRadar24 - is a live air traffic website where you can locate every plane that is flying at the very moment. Has to be said that in 2018 there were 19.000 planes recorded flying simultaneously. Monitor and track a flight live here.

For our accommodation, we prefer first checking Booking.com as it is the fastest and most reliable hotel booking site and afterwards we compare the prices on Hotels.com or Agoda. We also use Airbnb if want to have a long stay and pay less. We recommend Airbnb for stays over a period of a week as it's more comfortable if you rent an apartment or a whole house. This way you can even prepare your own meals or share the place with your travel mates.
Some of the sites we use for our stays and worth checking are Nightly Travel and HotelLook. Also, a very interesting and fresh site called TRVL.com seems to gain more fans. With these guys, you will find very nice choices for your stay as they are connected to all major accommodation providers (Booking.com, Expedia, Agoda) but the most interesting part is that you can earn a small commission from your own bookings.
Last but not least, if you are a person who doesn't mind sleeping on a couch and you get social easy, you can try the site called Couchsurfing.com. Here the idea is that you can be hosted for free or become a host. It is more like a travellers community and you can easily meet new people as you will be staying with the locals. We have no experience with them yet but we are sure we will. So, If you are ready to plan your next trip try our referral links below to get discounts for your accommodation bookings.
Book a room using the link http://bit.ly/uniquetripz_10 and you will get 10% refund to your credit card after your first stay (only available for new users). List your property on their site, just like at Airbnb, using this link booking_host and pay no commission on your first 5 bookings.
Hotels.com - in Hotels.com you can find daily discounts, last minute deals and rewards for your bookings. This site is major as you can also book flights, packages (accommodation+flight) and buy e-gift cards as a present. If you travel often, within a year, you can consider becoming a member of the Hotels.com Rewards program. They offer one night complimentary with every ten stayed nights.
Airbnb - if you are planning to book with the Airbnb use this link http://bit.ly/uniquetripz_abnb25 for a 25€ discount (for new members only and for stays over 65€). If you have a spare room or an apartment to rent you can consider becoming an Airbnb host. Hosts can make money easy with Airbnb because of their simple to use platform. Use this link new_airbnb_host, if you want to register as a host and i will get some beer money for referring you.
TRVL - ''power to the traveller'' is their slogan and we believe that's it's a cool idea to be able to earn some pocket money and be the travel agent for yourself. Use our link to sign up as a TRVL member and after your first stay is confirmed, we will both get $20 each as a commission.
Agoda - try Agoda's search engine to compare prices and discover amazing deals from a huge variety of hotels and vacation rentals. This site is one of our favourites when we search for our accommodation.
Nightly.travel - empowers travellers to combine two hotels in a single trip in order to save money, enjoy upgrades, and experience more. By switching hotels once during their trip, travellers can save as much as 70% vs staying in a single hotel while experiencing more of the cities they visit, getting more from their travels. When you arrive at a new destination one of the most important things you have in your mind is ''how i am gonna move around'' The answer can be on foot, public transportation, bike or e-bike, motorbike, taxi, rent a car or rent a driver (chauffeur). Well, we have used all of those options and can help you to find trusted companies:
On foot - if you are brave enough to walk long distance like us, try smartphone apps that are working with GPS, like GoogleMaps or MapsMe, they will help to avoid getting lost!
Public transfer - although you will waste some of your time waiting for a bus, ferry or a train, public transportation is always cheaper, more adventurous and sometimes unavoidable. A website that shows you the various routes to reach your destination with the public transfer is Omio and Rome2Rio. Both of them compare prices and timetables for trains, buses and flights. Also, a useful blog with lots information about travelling by train worldwide is the Seat61.com . While if you plan to travel by bus anywhere in the world BusBud will help you organize your trip. Meanwhile if you travel Southeast Asia one of the major sites to consider is 12GoAsia which is perfect for online bookings of ground, air and water transport services.
Bikes & e-bikes - few countries rent e-bikes or bikes and it is difficult to spot these shops online but we have found a website which can help you with this. Try Bikesbooking.com a company with great service that will help you rent any kind of bike or scooter. Otherwise, you can always check with your hotel when you arrive, most times the reception or your Airbnb host can provide you with this information.
Motorbikes - for us, renting a scooter or a motorcycle is the best way to explore a city and especially the nearby areas. Fast and comfortable way but be careful twice as in the most cities, especially in Asia, they drive like crazy plus the police won't hesitate to stop you more than once and charge you a fine. Again the best deals can be agreed on the spot or with Bikesbooking.com
Car rental - as you have noticed, most accommodation and air tickets companies offer also car renting services so you can book through them or instead you can choose from a great variety of cars at Discovercars.com and Economybookings.com
Taxi - if you travel often you should know that before getting into any taxi it is essential that you agree with the tariff in advance or force the driver to use taxi-meter. Otherwise, you will find yourself paying overcharged routes. A small tip, ask at the airport, in your hotel or check online the approximate tariff rate or just use the online booking apps like Uber and Grab, if they are available in the country you travel. If you need to book a taxi service in advance a good solution is the KiwiTaxi.com. They offer quality service in many countries and airports and keep growing fast.
We are sure that you like booking tours and adventure trips like we do. We have been travelling around for the past years and always have a couple tours in each destiantion we visit. Except using the Airbnb's tours, stated as experiences in their website, which are provided by the locals and we recommend them, you can also find a plithora of offers on the sites like Musement.com, Get Your Guide and Sputnik8.
Musement - contains the world´s most exciting tickets, tours and activities. They provide city tours, city passes, theme parks, art exhibitions, sport & cultutal events and even skip-the-line tickets to attractions. Check some of their services here.
Get Your Guide - is also one of our favourites websites for booking tours and activities around the world. Some of the famous tours they offer are Rome Tours, Reykjavik Whale Watching Tour, Florence Wine Tasting Tour, Dinner Cruise on the Chao Phraya, Private Guided Tour of the Acropolis and much much more. So don't forget to check this site before your next adventure.
Sputnik 8 - recently we spoted a Russian site called Sputnik8.com where we found some nice excursions and tours. Change the language to english and you will find some really interesting offers worth checking if you are visiting Russia or Ukraine. At the moment they expertise only in the above markets so the rates are in Russian rubles but you can easily convert it to your currency. PS: If you can read some russian helps a lot.
Cruise holidays are a synonym to relaxation and despite the fact that we like to explore new countries and shift from one country to another in just a few days, we also need some time to do nothing and just relax. That's why we decided to include cruise vacations in our schedule from 2018 and we encourage you to try it. In a cruise, you have the option just to chill in the pool and enjoy the view of the ocean or you can have a lot of fun in the entertainment facilities such as clubs, casinos, spas and the list keeps going. The best part of it is that you visit different countries and islands in just a period of a week without getting burnout.
Navigate on our plan your trip page to find offers for cruises around the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Norwegian and other destinations, or just visit cruisedirect.com and take a look for the upcoming cruises, you may just find a special deal for you or your loved ones.
Hopa Yacht - also offer cruises but in different way. It's an alternative and an easy way to book and organize boutique cruises. HopaYacht.com is an international, unique, and dedicated boutique-cruises-site that includes: full vessels and private cabins charters in small and medium-sized vessels, in a wide range of destinations, accompanied by a professional crew and from a big range of prices. Intersport - Intersport stores are well known for their outdoors and athletic clothes and gear. You can shop online from almost any country in Europe plus Australia, Canada, Chile, Egypt, Russia and they also offer free shipping service.
Gearbest, Banggood - Gearbest and Banggood are online retail shops that ships directly from China and offer a big gama of mostly electronic products. Although the estimated time of delivery is from 15-30 days due to the procedures of shipping and customs, i believe that you can benefit from the super deals they run for smartphones, drones, consumer electronics, travel gadgets and more fun stuff. Few products can be low quality but you can also find top class brands like dji, xiaomi, huawei, lenovo so it's really up to you want you to buy. Tip: always add the insurance during your order, just in case your goods are lost for some reason, this way you will be fully refunded. I have personally bought lots of stuff and had all my orders delivered safely.
DrimSim - is the a universal SIM card and free app for travelers. Drimsim is a real SIM card. It’s plastic and with a chip, like any other. You can insert it into your phone, tablet or router. The difference is that it is not tied to an operator. As your plane lands in a new country, Drimsim is immediately ready for work. You can call your friends, and they can call you. You can chat, post photos, make routes and not be afraid that you will spend all your money on roaming. Check them here.

No matter if you travel alone or with friends, a good book is always your best travel mate. Personally, i have always with me my pocket size dictionary, the language depends on where i travel, plus one more book. Every book can teach you so many new things you just cannot imagine. A book can be your company, it can travel your imagination or just keep your mind busy. Here is my five favourite books that i suggest reading and because i am sure that we can grow this list together let me know your preferences as well.
Othello by Shakespear - Othello is a tragedy by William Shakespeare, believed to have been written in 1603. The story revolves around its two central characters: Othello, a Moorish general in the Venetian army and his unfaithful ensign, Iago. Given its varied and enduring themes of racism, love, jealousy, betrayal, revenge and repentance.
The power of now - a guide to spiritual enlightenment is a book by Eckhart Tolle. The Power of Now is intended to be a guide for day-to-day living and stresses the importance of living in the present moment and avoiding thoughts of the past or future.
130 golden rules of success in life - this book talks about self-improvement and how can anyone simply by following those 130 rules become successful. Due to the fact that it is not available online, i found something similar to it, it's called The top 10 rules for success, get to know the rules to succeed in business and life from Titans, Billionaires, & Leaders who Changed the World.
4 hour work week by Tim Ferris - whether your dream is escaping the rat race, experiencing high-end world travel, earning a monthly five-figure income with zero management, or just living more and working less, 4 hour work week is the blueprint.
12 weeks in Thailand by Johnny FD - what started as a 3 week vacation turned into multiple 12 week trips throughout South East Asia to pursue and discover new passions. A memoir style travel guide on how to quit your job, move to a tropical paradise and get paid to do what you love whether it be scuba diving, train Muay Thai and MMA, or simply to travel the world.
Hippie - Hippie is one of my favourite books. Paulo Coelho is describing his journey at the time he was young and travelled all over the world. He travels on the famous ‘Death Train to Bolivia’, then on to Peru, later hitchhiking through Chile and Argentina. In the famous Dam Square in Amsterdam he meets Karla and together they embark on a trip aboard the Magic Bus, heading across Europe and Central Asia to Kathmandu. Despite the few reviews it has, this book is 100% worth buying! it is easy readable and Coelho wrote it the way that you will never get bored. Check it here.
