TASHKENT

Discover Tashkent - A city where Soviet architecture meets blue-tiled mosques, wide boulevards blend with quiet courtyards, and modern life moves gently through Central Asia’s largest capital.

destination

Tashkent feels different from most cities I’ve visited – open, calm, and spacious.
Wide roads framed by trees, old metro stations glowing with marble and chandeliers, and markets full of colors and unfamiliar scents.

Walking with a camera here is effortless. The light falls softly, the streets never feel crowded, and the mix of old and new creates frames you don’t expect.
There are moments when the city feels grand and structured – then suddenly warm, local, and welcoming.
Tashkent invites you to slow down, look closer, and feel the quiet rhythm of everyday life.

ThINGS TO DO IN TASHKENT
  • Wander through Chorsu Bazaara massive old market under a turquoise dome. Shop souvenirs and try fresh local bread, spices, dry fruits, and enjoy the pulse of local life.

  • Explore Tashkent Metro Stations. Marble halls, mosaics, chandeliers, a Soviet-era gallery hidden underground.

  • Visit Khast-Imam Complex featuring calm courtyards, and ancient manuscripts including one of the world’s oldest Qurans.

  • Explore the city centre with numerous museums, parks, fountains, and structured Soviet-era architecture all in one frame.

  • No trip to Tashkent is complete without trying the traditional Uzbek dishes such as plov, samsa, shashlik, shurpa and my favourite manti.

  • Day Trip to Nature: Explore Ugam-Chatkal National Park or Tavaksay Canyon. Escape the city for a hike through dramatic canyons, turquoise rivers, and mountain landscapes.
WHEN TO VISIT

April to June and September to October when the air is warm but not heavy, and the city is full of clear light.

If you visit in late September, you may catch the Tashkent International Film Festival, one of Central Asia’s biggest cultural events, bringing screenings, outdoor events, and creative energy to the city.
Summer gets extremely hot, while winter is calm but colder and quieter.
